For more than 50 years, Infratech has been the pioneer and
leader in
infrared technology. Automotive curing and industrial/commercial
heat application products are offered in a wide range by Infratech.
They have introduced products in the rapidly growing field of
infrared comfort heat. By using the most advanced manufacturing
technologies, Infratech can offer you the most efficient infrared
systems for the lowest cost. They also provide curing solutions for
virtually any coating or composite in use today. All of the
components your property or facility requires such as the design,
engineering, controls and equipment are provided. Infratech is
committed to offering you high quality, innovative products that
will exceed your expectations.
What is Infrared Heating?
Infrared heating is the practical way to add warmth to indoor or
outdoor settings where heated air cannot easily be contained and recirculated like patios, terraces, verandas and enclosed areas. The
heated quartz elements used inside of Infratech heaters emit safe,
clean wavelengths of light that are only absorbed by solid objects
like people, tables or floors, not the air.
Infrared Heating Is Green Heating
Infratech infrared heaters allow you to entertain outdoors without
producing negative environmental effects unlike gas-fired heater and
outdoor fireplaces. Infratech infrared heaters convert 90% of input
energy directly into radiant heat, and operate inexpensively. Infratech heaters have a variety of safety certificates that include
UL and CUL listings, NZ/Australia and CE listings and IP X4
certifications. These heaters are safe enough to be used indoors or
outdoors. They operate silently, emit no greenhouse gases or
unpleasant odors and do not require ventilation. Also, Infratech
comfort heater components and packaging are completely recyclable.
Electric Heaters vs. Gas Heaters
Electric heaters are more efficient and
easier to
operate and maintain than
gas heaters. Electric heaters are over 90%
efficient and perfectly safe for use indoors or outdoors. They are
inexpensive to operate and require minimal maintenance beyond
periodic cleaning. There are no valves, ignition components, moving
parts or burners to maintain or repair like with gas heaters. Also,
unlike gas heaters, electric heaters produce no sound, odors or
toxic emissions.
Infratech Offers a Variety of Mounting and Installation
Options
Infratech electric heaters can be flush mounted into a standard 8
foot ceiling using the flush mount frame. When these heaters are
surface mounted, they hang less than 9-1/2 inches from the ceiling.
This is amazing considering that the most commonly used overhead gas
heater requires a minimum ceiling height of almost 10 feet and when
mounted properly hangs almost 24 inches below it.
How to Choose an Infratech Heater - Three Easy Steps
1. Choose the
area you want to heat and determine the
approximate measurements and mounting heights.
2. Based on the measurements and mounting heights, choose a
heater that works functionally and aesthetically for you. Make sure
you have the proper size and number. Also consider how you will
install the heaters (mounting in the ceiling, flush mounting, wall
mounting, freestand pole).
3. Choose the control. You can choose the control based on
your desired control capabilities (solid state controls) and/or
budget (value control installations).
Quartz Elements vs. Short Wave Halogen Elements
If you are at all concerned about ambiance, appearance of decor and
creating a relaxing environment, Infratech infrared quartz elements
are the way to go. They provide comfortable medium wave heat and a
soft, almost unnoticeable warm glow while short wave halogen
elements produce intense heat and emit a bright and harsh-colored
light.
What about the Voltage?
Infratech provides heaters with several
different voltages. Using a
110/120 volt heater (1,500 watts maximum) is adequate for enclosed
areas like garages, indoor work areas or outdoor spaces no larger
than 5 feet by 5 feet. They are not suitable for larger areas.
208-volt power is mostly used in new homes and businesses. Always
remember to determine your power voltage before ordering and
installing a heater. If you use a 240 volt heater on 208 volts of
power only produces about 60% of desired infrared energy.
The main points to remember are:
-
Choose heaters with the correct heat output for the mounting
height and the area you are heating.
-
If the unit chosen is small, more heaters may be required to
get the same amount of heat output.
-
If you choose a dual element for aesthetic purposes,
concentrate more heat into a tighter space, more fixtures may be
required to provide total coverage of your area.
-
It's a good idea to compromise between functionality and
finding the desired look.
 Controlling Your Infratech Heater
A variety of controls are offered by Infratech. They allow for
maximum energy efficiency, control versatility,
ease of use, and affordability. The controls that can be used with Infratech heaters
are:
-
Simple on/switches for all models
-
Duplex switch option for dual element WD series.
-
Value priced input regulators for models 3,000 watts or
less.
-
Sophisticated solid state control systems.
Solid State controls are suggested when using more than one
heater. They are engineered to maximize performance, provide more
efficient operation, enable you to adjust intensity infinitely for
the ideal setting and offer you zonal control capabilities. These
controls are available in any voltage (UL listed). They can be used
for your individual projects and are also useful for commercial or
residential installations of any size.
