Feel free to use the eight foot cord in conjunction with an extension cord. Also, don't worry about leaving the heater outside; it is made of weather resistant hardware. It is certified for quality and safety as well.

You'll need to plug the Uniflame EWU710SP into a standard 120 volt grounded outlet. It does not run on propane. It is electric for your safety.
