Safety Measures
The L4000 uses a finger-proof steel intake and discharge grills to keep your fingers and other body parts from getting burnt. It also features an auto overheat protection function that shuts off the unit when it overheats, providing safe heating for you and your surroundings.

Thermostat

Review Title: Good heater - No complaints
Comments: I am using this heater to maintain a constant temperature in a 400 sq. ft. section of well insulated converted garage on an automated climate control system. Pulling a 240v 30A line was a justified effort based on the excellent performance of this heater. Would not hesitate to recommend it to anybody needing to heat approximately the same amount of space.

Review Title: Dayton L4000
Comments: Bought this to replace an unvented gas heater in my 400 sq ft shop. Although it hasn't been terribly cold yet I think it's going to do just fine. The main heater in the shop is a wood burner - this thing's purpose is for quick heat when I'm not going to be out there very long, and to take off the chill while the wood stove is warming up. I may also see how it does keeping things above freezing overnight (depending on the electric bill :-)). Two small disappointments: The plug shown in the website pictures is not the same as the one it came with (I had to swap out receptacles). I suppose I should have waited for it to arrive to do the wiring... Also, it does NOT have two heat settings, despite what the website says, and despite a sticker on the unit itself. The sticker says to operate a high/low switch with just doesn't exist. No big deal I'm thinking, because I'd probably always have it on the maximum setting anyway.

Review Title: Great little heater
Comments: I purchased this heater for a room that is about 420 sq.ft. and I was not disappointed! It does a great job of keeping my room comfortable and being a small compact package, it doesn't take up a lot of floor space. The blower circulates the heat so well that there are no hot or cold spots in the room. This is a great product!

Comments: As always, Air & Water delivered as they say. The Dayton L4000 heaters are of very good quality for the cost. I am removing my boiler system and for now I use 2 of these heaters to heat my 2600sf bi level in Michigan. Great heat for a small unit.
